Sharks Swim Team
Sharks Swim Team is an opportunity for kids to participate in a team sport under the YMCA club team. Swimmers will build endurance, skill, technique, and teamwork.
Offering 3 levels, Bronze, Silver, and Gold, team members progress through the levels as their skill increases. Meet attendance and USA Swimming registration is required at all levels.

Bronze: Swimmer should have completed Level 5-6 Swim Lessons
- Swim 25 yards each of freestyle and backstroke without stopping showing reasonable proficiency.
- Can dive from the side of the pool
- Has understanding of flip turns
- This group is designed to work on improving all four strokes, build endurance & confidence, learn how to follow a set clock, terminology, diving from block, and flip turns.
- Required attendance 3 days per week
- Competitions not required but attending 1 meet is encouraged.
Silver: Pre-requisite, Bronze level
- Swim 50 yards each of freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke using legal flip turns where required.
- Can dive from block
- Understand set list terminology and set clock with some guidance from coach
- This group is designed to continue working on technique for all 4 strokes, build encurance & confidence, learning how to do set lists & clocks independently and competing at meets.
- Required attendance 3-4 days per week
- 3 meets per year required
Gold: Pre-requisite, 2 months in silver &/or competed in at least one swim meet
- Swim 100 yards each stroke, 200 IM, 200 Freestyle
- Can do a set list without any guidance
- Follows set clock
- Knows all turns and racing starts
- Designed for competition, speed training, and endurance
- Stroke technique is continually refined
- Required attendance 4-5 days per week
- 6 meets per year required
Summer Swim Team
Dive into summer with our Summer Swim Team program, running from mid-June through August!
Designed for swimmers of all skill levels, the program focuses on improving stroke technique, endurance, teamwork, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.
Participants will build skills in all four competitive strokes while enjoying practices, team-building activities, and exciting swim meets throughout the season. Open to youth swimmers ages who have completed level 5/6 through age 18 the Summer Swim Team encourages sportsmanship, personal growth, healthy competition, and lasting friendships — making it the perfect way to stay active and make waves all summer long.
